The average reader of an AP news article doesn&#039;t even know what hit him--he just walks away convinced of precisely what AP wants him to think. Slick salesmanship at its best. Anyone who doubts the AP&#039;s subjectivity (but they&#039;re &quot;associated&quot; surely their people check on these things!) should try an experiment: read dozens of independently reported versions of the same story, together with the AP version.  They will all be remarkably different in tone. The majority will be biased, some one direction, some the other. It is sad indeed that &quot;reporting&quot; has little role in today&#039;s journalistic world of interpretation and re-packaging.</description>
