‘”KOSHER” MEDDLING IN U.S. POLITICS’
Another good read from DesertPeace, on the influence on US political affairs by Israeli elites, and vice versa.
Excerpt:
Maybe it’s true, maybe Israel does not meddle in the internal affairs of the United States… where then is the meddling coming from? Ever hear of AIPAC, Israel’s voice and power on the American scene? For decades they have literally been buying candidates, votes and anything else necessary to insure that Israel gets it’s way in any given situation. But, that’s not meddling… it’s political blackmail.
And, needless to say, if Israel does not get it’s way, the screams of anti Semitism become deafening… a name that has literally destroyed many a public figure. This too is not meddling, it’s what the zionists call ‘kvetching‘, a Yiddish word so overused that it is found in English language dictionaries.
It is a known fact that Israel does meddle…. it is also a known fact that the American government allows them to. Both act as if Israel is already the 51st State of the Union… a situation which Israel has benefited from both financially and politically for the past 60 years. Americans in high places with duel citizenship (Israel and American) is not a hidden subject, it is a well known fact. That apparently makes the meddling they do ‘Kosher’…
DetainThis Comment:
Shmuel Rosner is right: both the US and Israel are too involved in each other’s political affairs. But his commentary leaves out the deeper story explaining why such interference is so effective. It’s at the heart of what Steve, editor of DesertPeace, elaborated above.
US and Israeli state apologists go to elaborate lengths to make sense of US “aid” to Israel and the “special relationship.” They do this through the constant converging of “interests in the region” via contrived or overblown common enemies and other propagandistic fraud. Using such techniques learned in “hasbara” training, Israel’s lobbyists and apologists do their kvetching up and down Pennsylvania Avenue, academia, and corporate media with great success. This is one reason why anti-war presidential candidates like Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul (”stay out of entangling alliances”; “be friends with people”; “treat Israel like an adult, not a stepchild”) are ignored, fraudulently ridiculed, and considered fringe kooks or long-shots, when in fact they are the most qualified ones for the job.
Hasbara is not much different from other state propaganda; it’s simply the most effective and widely used propaganda in the world. But the techniques are old as the hills. A small example of what hasbara-in-action looks like would be the reponses to comments 1 and 2, found in comments 4 and 5, under Rosner’s article. Note the disingenuous ”point-scoring” techniques:
— the glittering generality: “Israel … the only US-friendly democracy [sic],” vital “political and security” interests, etc.
— transfer: “Other nations getting US money includes Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Iraq.” (”why criticize Israel?”)
— mud-slinging: “your tiny mind,” “stench of perverted ideas,” “infidel aid,” etc.
Also note, in comment 4, the lack of addressing of the actual points that were made in comment 1. Instead, we see a bunch of vague, off-tangent catchprases and pointed half-wit, with a couple of fallacious MSM clichés thrown in. All of which is much easier for its users than debating the facts within historical contexts and the framework of what is legal and moral. But that is hasbara. And it, too, is financed through the same “special relationship” its users promote and sustain. The relationship is only “special” in that it benefits only a special few statist-corporatist elites. None of it, however, is in the interest of the people of Israel, Palestine, or the United States. Let us expose this vicious cycle of lies, deception, and high crimes in government and corporate media—in defense of the innocent and defenseless victims of tyrannical state policies.

and if Israel is gone then the extremists will first go after Saudi Arabia, then Jordan then Egypt then any Middle Eastern country that has a semblance of democracy and install Sharia, then they will turn to Europe and perhaps since they are already here,,,might just decide to use the frredoms that we still have and are willing to give up in order to be safe(wiretapping) e-mails) being penetrated by the FBI etc, against us to claim their rights,,,,,
We all hope that some day there will be 2 states side by side, Israel and Palestine where they share technology and resources and art and the steady march of those seeking to restore the caliphate is stopped by those who want their children to have a better life here on earth… Take a look at the films that have recently been made, they are about people, who get to see the humanity in each other and even fall in love,
That certainly would be nice, and I agree; but the Zionist, neocon, and Saudi regimes must “vanish from the pages of time,” and the U.S. needs to stop meddling in the affairs of other nations—stop stoking the flames of radicalism. Eliminate the incentive; eliminate the threat.
